It has been raining since yesterday afternoon.
I adore the rain, it makes my happy,
the sound of the drops falling is so relaxing
and knowing that the rain quenches the earth's thirst,
fills the lake, the rivers, make plants and flowers grow, restore the grass,
polish the tree leaves (watch the oak's leaves the will glimmer in the rain)
of course it has some negativities like destroying flowers,
drowning vases, not permitting me to do trekking :)))
so what do you do when the rain is falling?
well, after the brunch I sat on the sofa reading, then slept and then..
thought...
mmmmm let's do something with those green bell peppers,
that are slowly getting more and more squidgy.
Green Bell Pepper Chutney
you need:
270gr of green bell pepper
2 cloves of garlic
3 withe onions (medium size)
160gr of cane sugar
20gr of fresh grated ginger
2 cloves
3 pimientos grains
1 tsp of mustard seed
1 tsp of black peppers grains
100gr of red vinegar
clean and chop the bell peppers and the onions
put all the ingredients in a big pot and let gently cook while mixing now and then.
it will take about an hour.
pour in clean jars and close lid tight.
let cool up side down and the store in a cool, dark and dry place.
let rest for 15days before eating (but it is very tasty immediately :)
here together with two goat cheese (one is baked in oven)
and the third called Bagoss ( from Bagolino - Bs)
it is made of cow milk and they add saffron,
it is seasoned (like a Parmigiano).
mmmmmmmmm
delicious!!
and the to photos above and under is the view we had this evening..
it was still raining a little
but I couldn't resist, going out photographing the gift nature was offering us :)
I wish to thank my dear friend Rachel from
that is hosting the WHB this week

Bacius to you too, Brii. Great recipe for conserving the fruits and vegetables of the season. I love chutneys too but have never tried one with green peppers, so now I have bookmarked this to try in September when I will hopefully have lots of green peppers from the garden. Look for the roundup on Monday.
